At the age of nine she began with musical education in Music School in Valjevo, where she received piano lessons and also attended solfeggio and music theory courses. Ivana graduated from Music High School in Valjevo with a focus on harmony and music theory.<br \/>\nIn 2010, she moved to Tyrol to study composition at the Tyrolean Conservatory with prof. Franz Baur, which she graduated in 2015; in the same year she won the first prize at the choir competition of the \u201cTiroler S\u00e4nger Bund\u201d in the category for male choir. In 2013 for the first time Ivana attended the Workshop for live electronic music with Prof. Johannes Kretz.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In 2017, Ivana continued her studies with a Master&#8217;s program in composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University, under guidance of Prof. Erland Maria Freudenthaler and a program in electronic music composition with Prof. Andreas Weixler. She graduated with honors in 2020. The topic of her Master&#8217;s thesis was: \u201cThe Interplay of Seeing and Hearing in Contemporary Music: How do Visual Aspects Change the Perception of Music?\u201d.<br \/>\nIn January 2020, Ivana&#8217;s composition \u201cVII Emotions\u201d was awarded by Femina Musica Budapest and performed at the Budapest Music Center. She was recently invited to Japan by the \u201cMudita\u201d festival to hold workshops and lectures on composition, improvisation and computer music as a means of expression.<br \/>\nIn 2021, the composer was awarded the \u201cStart Grant for Music\u201d by the Federal Chancellery of Austria. In 2023, She received the Hilde Zach Award from the city of Innsbruck. In the sam year she was Composer in Residence in Brest and Dresden. For 2025 a \u201cFederal Grant for Composition\u201d by the Federal Chancellary of Austria.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Emotional expression plays a central role in her compositions; She incorporates elements of folk music from her homeland. Her work so far includes pieces for piano, orchestra, ensemble, dance and stage works, as well as choral works and compositions with live electronics. In recent years, Ivana has focused on stage works and has managed several performances at festivals with her works \u201cShelter\u201d, \u201cOverload\u201d and \u201cDuality\u201d. Through collaborations with dancers Seraphim Schuchter and Ola Krzekotowska, two additional stage works were created, \u201cMy Skin\u201d and \u201cSorry I don&#8217;t know that one\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti has commissioned and premiered five works by the composer: \u201cLittle Piece for Orchestra\u201d premiered in 2015, \u201c2010 &#8211; Burj Khalifa\u201d was premiered as part of an anniversary concert in 2018 and was released on the \u201cUrknall CD\u201d, 2021 \u201cfast eine antwort&#8230;\u201d was inspired by and composed in collaboration with Austrian award-winning writer Anja Utler, &#8220;The Winner&#8217;s Song&#8221; premiered in Haus der Musik Innsbruck 2023 and &#8220;Azure: The Five Elements&#8221; in 2024.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ivana Radovanovic was born in 1994 in Valjevo, Serbia, located 100km west of Belgrade.
