Shelter

Inspired by the memories of the Serbian-born composer Ivana Radovanovic of the time when Serbia was bombarded in 1999.

„I was just a 5 year old kid wondering why do we all have to sit every night at our neighbour’s basement. Why is everybody so nervous. Can’t we go out and play like we used to? …There’s no light or electricity, no cartoons!?…”

The music, in connection with the scenic-dance events on stage, revives the different emotional phases and reactions of the people who were looking for shelter. Uncertainty, fear, nervousness, tension, fainting and claustrophobia characterize the atmosphere in this small room.

Duality

Premiere: Lange Nacht Der Bühnen, Linz 11.06.2022

Divisibility, duality, polarization on the macro and micro level, in society as well as on the personal level: Is everything black and white, or are there other shades in between? Why does it have to be you vs me, us vs them? If you are not for it, then you are against it? Since we all have different beliefs and views, this performance could have different perceptions. The idea of polarization in our society is reflected in a singular person as well. Somewhat sarcastic, but at times absurd, events from our daily lives are portrayed through the artist’s lens.
